Koi Carp are a huge part of our business. We have four stores in Cheshire, Shropshire, & Staffordshire retailing ornamental fish, which means that we have around a hundred tanks of coldwater fish for sale at any one time, which is actually an awful lot of fish to source. As we sell a huge number of koi the only way to really find the best, healthiest fish at prices that are sensible and in the quantities that we need is to travel to the Far East and personally visit the fish farms and dealers to buy fish first hand. Some would say this isn’t work at all and they may be right but it is important for us to buy the best fish for you. With twenty years of experience, we still think this is the only way to find the right fish.
The fish we offer are sensibly priced, strong, healthy fish ideal for your garden pond. Our market has always been the middle 80% of the market. We are not interested in some of the cheap rubbish at the bottom of the market and neither are we interested in the top ten percent where the prices have become truly ridiculous and do not reflect either the cost or the quality of some of the fish offered. It appears to me that the more some folk charge for fish, the better they are supposed to be (check out the parable of the Emperors Invisible Clothes!).
Our fish are sensibly priced, strong and colourful fish. You can see from the photographs exactly what they look like – your fish will come from the same batch.
We quarantine all our fish for at least three weeks before delivery so that you can buy them with confidence. With four big stores in the Midlands, we get a lot of practice at preparing fish for sale!
